BONJOLEA II ACES THE FLEET!

With Bonnie Tiffany on the helm of the Sydney 36 sailboat Bonjolea II there was no looking back! She finished over 8 minutes ahead of the next boat in the 7 sailboat fleet racing in Nawiliwili Harbor.
This third race of the Bob Hamby Memorial Series was held on 2/24/2022. The 6.23 mile course was C-D-B with 2 long laps out to the Ninini lighthouse buoy and a short lap in the middle around the Kalapaki buoy. The wind was out of the east at 11-12 knots. The previous week was won by the Express 27 Papa Au but disaster struck when their port side inner shroud that helps to hold up the mast broke. Rather than lose their mast they retired from the race. Bummer.
After Bonjolea II’s fantastic first place finish it was Fast Company in second place behind by 3 and a half minutes on corrected handicap time. Ozone finished third a minute behind Fast Company. Weatherly, Speedy and Double Espresso rounded out the fleet.
